Alone by the Gorge

S P

On this lonely eve, by the gorge’s edge I stand,
Alone upon the verge, where silence reigns,
Gazing at mountains, distant and vast,
Recalling love that couldn’t last.

Lonely whispers of love in the evening air,
Lost in thoughts of love and bittersweet kiss,
Heavy sighs escape my lips, laden with past,
The blue mountains hum me a mournful chant.

Beneath the fading day’s soft gentle light,
In this moment of silence and serene solitude,
Amidst the echoes of a distant bygone love,
I stand here, longing to be where I truly belong.
